From gaming to blogging and earning money!
July 13, 2007
I’m on the Internet more or less on a daily basis, so I’ve got a fair few websites in my favourites! I’ll sift this down to just 10 and tell you what they are:-
1) NEOPETS.COM
Neopets is a virtual pet website where you can create up to 4 pets. Although this website is predominantly aimed at children, there are a lot of adults playing on the site too! There are loads of games to play, forums to talk on, all of which are being watched by the eagled eyed Neopets staff in USA! You can also open your own shop to earn Neopoints (NP’s) (like money) or open a bank account to earn interest on you NP’s. It’s a really good fun site and a place to go and chill out for a bit.
2) BBC.CO.UK
The BBC is a fantastic website and holds a wealth of information. I’ve got this set as my my homepage. There’s games to play and lots and lots of information on learning on loads of different topics like ancient history, English, maths etc. The Interactive content on the learning section is really good too. Oh, and they do up-to-date news and weather reports too!
3) CIAO.CO.UK
Ciao, like Dooyoo, is a place where you can write reviews to earn money. (Like you didn’t already know that!). I’ve been a member of Ciao for little over 5 years now and really enjoy it there. As a sub website (3a) I’ll include Dooyoo as well. Although there was a time when I didn’t visit Dooyoo for a good while, I’m back now and still enjoying it here as much as I did when I joined the site back in 2001!
4) GOOGLE.CO.UK
Google is probably the world’s most famous search engine. What I like about Google is that you can find virtually anything you want here, including images. I visit Google if I want to find out anything about anything!
This is what the web looked like in 1994

Wow. We never thought about it this way before, but if the web still looked like this, you wouldn’t need an iPhone with Safari to surf the web on your phone.
