I am from Serbia and I have to say that it is not the best country in the world and the most beautiful but it got some nice places to see like Belgrade. I have to agree with ivana above that Croatia is a beautiful country and that why we Serbs want to take it over. I got to admit we Serbs are landgrabbers, but thats how our ancestors brought us up. This is an enjoyable site! I’ve visited more than 40 countries and Peru’s Macchu Pichu is at the top of my list as well. It didn’t make your list, but I also recommend Tikal in Guatamala. I haven’t been to New Zealand … but many tell me that they like the Milford Trail as much as they like Peru’s Inca Trail.

Nice. It seems that we really cannot run out of beautiful places in the world. I’ve traveled quite a lot and have been to about 23 of the places in this list. Although I would have to agree with most of the places mentioned, some, I daresay, are not so impressive in real life. But I guess it really depends what you consider beautiful in the first place. In terms of natural beauty, the most diverse and unique are Philippines, Brazil and Tanzania. In terms of ancient cultures, Peru, Egypt, China, Rome and Greece. Religious places: Vatican, Hagia Sofia, Angkor Wat. I can only judge from what I’ve seen so far. But it can be castles, temples, mosques, festivals, cities, man-made structures. Just depends on what you like. There are SO MANY places which are not in this list, places that only locals of each country may be familiar with, that’s why everyone thinks their own country is really beautiful (which is why you should google Palawan). These just happen to be the most popular.

I’m an adventurer, so much in love with nature and places….nature is God’s one of the greatest gift to humankind. As a Pisces in zodiac sign, I like going places, like beautiful places and appreciate them as I do appreciate how wonderful God’s creations are. I do appreciate that Banaue Rice terraces in the Philippines was included in the top 50. Yes it’s really nice and amazing. Philippines is a small island but it has so many beautiful places like beaches and resorts. To name a few is the El Nido resorts in Palawan which is voted as one of the top 5 green resorts in the world. Also the Club Paradise island resort in Busuanga, Palawan, the Club Noah resort in Apulit island in Palawan. The Palawan Underground river too is beautiful. Boracay island is also one of the best island and white beach in the world. Try tovisit also Batanes island, Camiguin island in Mindanao, Samal island in Davao City, Bohol, Malapascua & Bantayan islands in Cebu. Not to mis also the island hoppings in Surigao City, Caramoan peninsula in CamSur, Calicoan island in Samar. Visit also the majestic Mayon Volcano in a perfect cone shape, Dakak Beach resort, and many more.

Good effort to show 100 beautiful places of the world at a glance. However, some places may have been left to be come over here. May I show here some more places in India may be deserving to be added: 1. The Golden Temple, Amritsar (Punjab); 2. Qutub Minar, Delhi; 3. Manali in Himachal Pradesh. (there are so many beautiful places in India still may be added).

What a daft list!!! OK, MANY of these places are beautiful, but I’ve seen about 20 of them and wouldn’t have a single one of them in my personal top 10!!! and the fact that they are ranked 1 to 100 (with so many spelling errors and grammar mistakes? the BIG wall of China?)
Africa is especially poorly represented for the stunning continent it is! I would include the magnificent Okavango Delta, would immediately substitute the Sahara Dunes (which I have also seen) for those in Namibia, would include Kilimanjaro in a heartbeat, and would have at least a half a dozen – AT LEAST – from South Africa which is simply the most beautiful country I have ever seen. The Kruger National Park, The Blyde River Canyon, the unbelievable Cape Peninsula, Table Mountain, the Kalahari Desert, the Garden Route, the Drakensburg Mountains, Namaqualand, the Cape winelands, Cape Town itself, Storms River Mouth etc! What about Zanzibar while we are talking Africa? or the beaches in Mozambique? The Motopos?
On other continents, what about Torres Del Paine? Santa Marta? The Bernese Oberland? Sulawesi? Bryce and Zion Canyons? The Kimberly’s? The Karakoram? the Hills of Guangxi Province? The Amalfi Coast? Big Sur? The Canadian Rockies? The Andes? Alaska? Denali? and if you have to chose one in the UK (which is home) – surely the Lake District or Scottish Highlands, or Dover, over BIG BEN AND PARLIAMENT?!? At least it’s better than the Kennedy Space Centre (huh ???)
Anyway – list is awesome, but ‘the 100 most beautiful places’it sure is not!

I wanted to suggest switzerland and the alps. The valley of Lauterbrunnen if you have seen even a picture of it you will agree it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I loved your list and your effort. I love the contrast of how you put some desert places and antarctica and somethings that are beautiful in their own way. Never thought of the sahara as a beautiful place.

good work. if you dont know that The Banaue Rice Terraces are 2000-year old terraces that were carved into the mountains of Ifugao in the Philippines by ancestors of the Batad indigenous people. The Rice Terraces are commonly referred to by Filipinos as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”.[1][2][3] It is commonly thought that the terraces were built with minimal equipment, largely by hand. The terraces are located approximately 1500 meters (5000 ft) above sea level and cover 10,360 square kilometers (about 4000 square miles) of mountainside. They are fed by an ancient irrigation system from the rainforests above the terraces. It is said that if the steps are put end to end it would encircle half the globe.[4]
The Banaue terraces are part of the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras, ancient sprawling man-made structures from 2,000 to 6,000 years old. They are found in the provinces of Apayao, Benguet, Mountain Province and Ifugao, and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Locals to this day still tend to the rice and vegetables on the terraces, although more and more younger Ifugaos do not find farming appealing, often opting for the more lucrative hospitality industry generated by the Rice Terraces[citation needed]. The result is the gradual erosion of the characteristic “steps”, which need constant reconstruction and care.

I liked that list a lot. I’ve been to a lot of those places, and they are very beautiful. But I couldn’t believe Switzerland wasn’t on the list. Switzerland is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Lugano and Lucerne, and the view of the Swiss Alps… amazing.

These are all amazing places but i was shocked to see that Big Ben rates higher than San Fransisco. I think that the Pacific Highway in California should be on there because it is such an outstanding place with glorious views. I also believe yhat monument valley is an amazing place aswell.

Great list Overall, very meticulously done. However, I have 3 strong disagreements
1) Jiuzhaigou at #64 is WAAAAAAAAAAY to low. Should be top 20. I’ve spoken to many tour guides in China that had been to all around the world and Jiuzhaigou is their consensus pick for the most beautiful natural scenic spot in the world.
2) Southern Utah is not on the list (Bryce Canyon, Arches, Mt Zion, etc) By many accounts Bryce Canyon is more impressive than grand canyon
3) I’ve been to Carlsbad Cavern (#32?) *yawnz*. There are dozens of Caves just in China that are much more impressive. If it’s #99, I would still think it’s too high.
Good job for recognizing Halong bay at #16 and Guilin at #28. Wulingyuan at #76 could be much higher.
Notable ommisions: Alps, Bryce Canyon, Huangshan, Bath/Stonehenge/Cotswolds, Banff Nat Park, Greek Islands

You have not seen yet Dawansar,Ghuchhn,Naangan,Barheh,Banni,Dera Lal Khan,Meerajani.This is a valley of Dawansar at front side of Thandiani at its double height and at back side of Kotla/Basali,Abbottabad,from where you can see the kashmir under-feet.these places are parodize upon the earth.Having no example in beauty and attraction.
And the best natural Picnic spots But because of having no facility of Road people know less about these places.But the whole valley is full of natural beauty having no example
